Matchbook has completed its acquisition of Betdaq, bringing two of the longest-established betting-exchange names under one owner and giving the market a clear set of dates to work around.
Matchbook said on 14 October 2026 that the existing Betdaq service, operated by EPS Ltd, will remain open for trading until 21 October. Customer accounts will stay available for withdrawals until 4 November. Betdaq’s own notice carries the same message and adds an important detail: Betdaq accounts will not transfer automatically to Matchbook.

Matchbook describes the acquisition as a way to combine Betdaq’s heritage with Matchbook’s pricing, technology and liquidity. In an exchange, that pool matters. Customers are not simply taking a price from a traditional bookmaker; they are trying to match a back or lay position against other participants. A deeper market can mean more available money at a price, tighter spreads and fewer partial fills.
Those are claims about the combined product’s direction, not a guarantee about every market. The immediate customer question is simpler: have you finished any open account business before Betdaq stops accepting markets? Trading ends first. The withdrawal window lasts longer, but leaving a withdrawal until the final day turns a manageable account check into a deadline problem.
TopGamb’s guide to betting exchanges versus sportsbooks explains why the distinction matters. Our guides to checking legal status, regulated markets, sportsbook liability and loss limits sit behind the same point: a familiar brand does not remove the need to understand the account wrapper.
The customer-facing transition has three parts. First, markets remain available only until 21 October 2026. Second, the existing account remains open until 4 November for statements and withdrawals. Third, a bettor who wants to use Matchbook must create a new Matchbook account rather than expecting balances, history or verification to move across.
That separation is easy to miss because the acquisition makes the brands sound like one service. They are not one login. Treat the Betdaq account and any Matchbook account as separate records, with separate terms, identity checks, payment methods and responsible-gambling settings.
Before the trading deadline, download statements, note open positions and check whether any unsettled market has a special settlement rule. After withdrawing, confirm that the payment route is still under your control. A new account should be evaluated on its own terms, not accepted as the automatic destination for an old balance.
The acquisition also changes the competitive shape of exchange betting. Matchbook’s announcement presents a deeper combined pool as a benefit. That may help customers in some markets, but consolidation can also mean fewer independent places to compare commission, liquidity, limits and account support.
For bettors, the practical comparison is not only the headline price. Check whether the market has enough money at the displayed odds, how unmatched bets are handled, what commission is charged on winnings, how cash-out or settlement works, and whether the operator’s licence and complaints route are clear. If those details are difficult to find, slow down before moving a balance to the new account.
Gambling should stay inside a fixed entertainment budget. A market transition is a poor reason to increase stakes, chase a closing promotion or keep an account open because a bonus appears. GamCare offers support for people who are finding gambling hard to control, and the safer decision is to pause before the next deposit rather than use a new login as a reset button.
